I am smarter than a show that challenges whether or not the viewer is smarter than an elementary school student.

The last question on Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? was, "As a part of the modern scale 'do re mi,' which syllable comes after 'ti'?"

Well everyone, even dead people and the guy playing the game, knows that the answer is "do." But my reaction was "modern"? "MODERN," for reals? Because solfege has been around since Guido of Arezzo coined it in the first millennium A.D. (With a name like that, "modern" is nowhere in sight)Perhaps the question-makers were taking their knowledge from The Sound of Music rather than their experience in sightsinging.

Alas, Alack. Most of America with never know the truth (or care that they don't).
